Good hire he has the fire and passion we need

  2. dchowchow

Took of 2014 – 2015 to try to take over the world. Thwarted by 007.

  3. Adolfcheadle

I’ll take an ECF loss at this point

  4. TheBusinessMuppet

Have a feeling this is the type of assistant coach that will be head coach of Keefe falters and gets fired.

  5. dingleberry51

Should’ve just done the enviable and made him head coach

  6. McJoe77

He coached SC Bern from 2014-2016 which included coaching against Auston Matthews and his Zurich SC team. Boucher was fired mid season in Auston’s year in the Swiss league.

17 was a really impressive playoff run. And the scar makes him look like a total badass.

  8. SnooHesitations1965

Holy shit we’ll have someone at ice level who’s seen the ECF…crazy.

  9. Dretoxed

In an alternate universe we could have hired him instead of Babcock. I wonder how that would have played out.

    “Lost to the Bruins”

    He fits right in!

  11. Shar-DamaKa

Hired to step in as head coach after keefe gets canned in January

He’s what AI would draw if you typed “Bond Villain”

Sheldon Keefe is what you’d get when you type “High School Gym Teacher”

I always liked guy. He should do well in toronto

1-3-1, idk why it works so well, but it does. And the Leafs are built that they could run that and still have forwards putting up 100 points.

I get that there’s the question mark regarding why he went to Europe instead of staying in the NHL, but he’s coached 2 teams to an ECF with less talent that the Leafs have right now

I don’t see this as an issue, he wasn’t hired to be their head coach , he was hired to be an assistant. Some people are better at being assistant coaches than head coaches. Have you not seen this in the workplace where all of a sudden a star employee becomes the manager or the assistant becomes the manager and they’re not very good?

His coaching of that Senators team was masterful. He squeezed every ounce out of that lineup. EK65 put the team on his back, for sure, but Boucher made that roster work.
