  1. Aho does WAY more than Nylander, if Toronto ends up paying Nylander more than Aho it just screams at the level of incompetence at the front office and the inflated value of the Core 4. Aho performs in the playoffs and he's got a lot of series wins under his belt with Carolina. If we're paying Nylander 10+ million for a single playoff series victory, we're freaking delusional.

  2. I don't think the leafs can win a cup this year with one rookie and one veteran in net this team is ready now they should trade nylander for a top net minder 1 for 1

  3. Sebastian Aho $9,750,000 = $4,607,324 taxes/$5,142,676 net income. A $11,700,000 contract in Toronto =$6,567,243 in Ontario taxes, $5,132,757 net income. So if you want to compare, you need to talk like Aho is getting paid like a $11.7 million dollar player in Toronto.

  4. nylander 7.5-8 thats it or let him walk how many times over last few yrs everyone saying how he doesnt play all in most games sorry for me i would never pay over that for a z75 game floater

  5. It’s a ridiculous to say, letting him walk to free agency. Draft picks up-and-coming prospects you have to get something for him. He’s value to the team and he’s not worth letting him walk for nothing.

  6. Right from the start a few were warning about good old will and his clown dad when it comes to his contracts and they were all right this has been a circus. At this point i would like to see him gone. I would be happy to see him go and use the cap for players that want to be here.

  7. Nylander and Brodie for Lindholm and Zadorov pending forwards signing longterm with new teams

  8. It is absolutely INSANE to keep Nylander if you know he's not going to sign, trade the guy and get assets back so you can continue to build around Matthews & Marner. In 2 years time you could be looking back at only 2 of 4 core pieces being here and you have ZERO assets back for the other two. PURELY DUMB.

  9. They're COMPARABLE? Aho has more goals. More assists. In both the regular season AND in the playoffs. And you can't use the "Aho's played more games" argument – he has a higher goals and points per game pace. Aho is a first line center. Willy, for most of his tenure, has been a second line winger here in Toronto. Aho kills penalties, Willy is atrocious in his own end even at 5v5. Willy, even in the career year he just had, still gets benched and has motivation issues annually. And don't give me the shit about him being good in the playoffs – yeah, he was decent against Florida, but he was also by far the worst of the core against Tampa.

Willy getting a penny over Meier's contract is an absolute failure from Brad and if he isn't willing to take 8.8 then literally trade him for nothing but picks if you have to. He can take his "10+" contract and shove it. He signs at or below Meier, or he's gone. That's what I would do.

  10. Nylander will ask for at least 10 with absolutely no contact or going into the corners

  11. All the core is worried about cash they don’t care about winning they care about lining there pockets we will never ever win with this mentality

  12. Nylander at 6 mil this year is a bonus… if he walks after, so be it…. you aren't getting better value any way this season.

  13. Aho is a center immediately drops nylanders price by a mill …example 8.8 Γ— 8 …anything different ship him out

  14. I really hope they can trade Nylander and get a true 1st right hand D partner for Rielly. Then get rid of Brodie , he was a pylon in playoffs. And do NOT let Tavares play center anymore he is way too slow. Beyond that good luck Treliving lol.

  15. Nylander, Lilligren, Brodie and Kampf for Lindholm, Weegar and Zadorov would help solve our defense problems and make Tavares wing with Lindholm at center might work. But that would mean CAL is not on any ones NTC which I do not know. Cal would get usable defense and a center and a elite goal scorer so makes sense both ways.

  16. Aho is a defensively sound, Point per game, #1C in the NHL. Nylander is our second best winger who only contributes on the offensive side of the puck, and that's when he decides to show up. No way he's better than Aho

  17. why is it convenient that it was on his birthday? Where are you going to wish him a happy birthday or something?πŸ˜‚

  18. Nylander wants $10M, but I think he would take 9 for a shorter term. He is absolutely worth more than Tavares, which is a horrible contract that is hurting the leafs ability to sign other players. If the leafs won't offer 9 x 3 than I think there is a very good chance he walks.
