The Vancouver Canucks put on a disappointing showcase against the Edmonton Oilers at home, as they blow a 2-0 lead and lose 3-2 in overtime. Despite getting a vintage Elias Pettersson snipe and a Tyler Motte shorthanded goal, the Canucks’ best player was hands down goaltender Spencer Martin.

The Oilers got goals from Ryan McLeod, Leon Draisaitl, and Connor McDavid.

  1. Unfortunately this team is definitely not a playoff team I'll eat my words if they make it but I have high doubts they do not make it

  2. The refs destroyed that game. Shots aside they ruined the momentum.
Bruce doesn’t understand how to deploy players in OT either.

  3. The smartest move we can move is to trade Halak for a draft pick before he plays enough games to get his bonus that’s if Martin can keep this up

  4. We are not going to make the playoffs is what you are saying after a game after we were missing Horvat, Pearson, Garland, Demko and Halak and still managed to get a point?

  5. A bit too early to say this team isn’t going to make the playoffs. McDavid also embellished on that cross check lol. I get that it was close to the boards but man it was so obvious. Also if it’s not with the Canucks, Martin proved himself that he can be a reliable backup in the NHL.

  6. I’ve been watching your videos for a while but I don’t think I’ve ever commented so here it is for the algorithm! Thanks for consistently putting out entertaining content ‼️‼️

  7. I didn't think it was terrible given we basically only had one line + a few stragglers scattered throughout (pods, hoglander). Thoight the motte line (and motte in particular) had a pretty strong game. Overtime and organization to clear the zone for sure left something to be desired, often when the lotto line was out there. It's clear we are missing a line here, whether Bo and garland are enough to make up the difference is unclear.

  8. You're goalie was close to lights out tonight. Kids definitely got a super bright future. That was definitely a wide open. Exciting game regardless

  9. Kosk does best on high volume games so unlikely he'd have let in more… especially without screens.

  10. Really liked Martins puck handling skills. At times it made a difference. I like the team, but we are a bit weak as a fringe contender. Not sure but we might be the smallest team. Had wondered for the longest time on why the team would pick up smallish non physical players. I think they also said we cornered the market on fourth liners. Over all I would like to say stop here because we won't be much better. Never say die. Some glaring holes in the line up. Go for it win or lose. The chances of making the playoffs are as good as the Oilers chances.

  11. Canucks choke. They were worn out by the third. They are down Horvat… Garland and two goalies. It changes how they play.

  12. He does deserve better, but in that game…he lost it. That first goal cannot go in, you know the Oilers are likely to score one right? You can't give them one. So, I turned it off, because it is extremely statistically unlikely that a team that gives up a multi-goal lead wins the game right? Turned out I was right. I am not happy about it though. No team is worse than playing with the lead I suspect. Toronto gets picked on because the leads are greater.

  13. They aren't making the playoffs and they aren't getting a lottery pick. They will get a pick between 9-15. There are a handful of teams with less points.

  14. Martin has potential. He needs to hang onto his stick better and not fall on his face. Very Luongoesque but not in a good way.
