in 2019, The San Jose Sharks and The Vegas Golden Knights went head-to-head in game 7. After crawling back from a 3-1 series defecit, San Jose found themselves in a 3-0 hole with 10 minutes left in the game. We break down how one injury, sparked a historic NHL comeback.

As a die hard knights fan this still HAUNTS me to this day.
refs are human. they will make mistakes. you have to accept that. then you have to kill off the penalty. if they get one, so be it you have a 3 goal lead. they gave up 4 goals. that's not on the refs that's on Vagas.
disagree that the major was a bad call. You didn't mention once the player that actually put Pavelski on the ice, nor did you even show the play that ACTUALLY caused the injury, although that seems purposeful on your part. The puck had been cleared well before he got slammed down. The call probably shouldn't have been cross checking on Eakin, but roughing on the player that came in and threw Pavelski to the ice causing his skull to leak. He didn't have the puck, and was already off balance. If he had fallen on his own right after the cross check then no penalty. IMO it's more about the fact that a person was subject to such an injury that a penalty should be called to avoid similar situations.
The refs clearly paid Vegas back in 2023
It's only a blown call because the wrong player was penalized. It was the Vegas player who threw an off balanced, completely vulnerable Sharks player to the ice that should have been called. No one cares a player was injured being bodily shoved to the ice. As for the worst call in playoff history, that would be the non-call for Brett Hull's skate in the crease for the Stanley cup winning goal. The NHL changed that rule as well.
Prob one of if not the greatest comeback in recent history
In the 20 years I've watched hockey, this game seven is the best game seven I've ever seen.
how is it not a major? even without injury looks worth a major
A legendary game that capped off a legendary 1st round.
I don't agree with that shove, dirty play on behalf of the Golden Knights and I'm a knights fan
I will never forget being at work and absolutely losing my shit when we got that 4th goal. One of the best feelings in my hockey watching life
me and my dad were watchin switched it off after max scored i decided to turn it back on however at 12 mins left and looked at my dad and said the sharks are fuckin doin this 2 mins later it started
For a historical video consider researching Mario Lemieux average goals and assists per game calculated as if he played full seasons for his first 13 seasons, then tally the number for his career. His points tally if he had played full seasons will blow your mind. Also look at who his line mates were prior to Coffey arriving.
I only suggest this to you because you make the best NHL videos and the hockey world really needs to know just how good he was. Who better than you to present it!
Here is a clue – it's easily well over 1000 goals and 2000 assists for his career.
I remember a few of Vegas’s players complaining after. Like maybe try to kill off the penalty???
ah yes the most biased call in modern nhl history
I asked myself what stings more:
1. The 2019 Game 7 meltdown, or…..
2. The Sharks still don't have a Cup, but the Knights do.
After watching the replay of the game in 2019. I was left wondering why the number 26 did not care about what's happening to the number 8 player. He even gave the number 8 a little friendly smackdown to the ground that says ''get out of my way punk. Don't you see I have a puck to catch"
Vegas got what they deserved
the OP acts like it was a motivational thing, but the fact that it was a 5 minute PP kinda helps
At the end of the day, VGK got a cup, and the Sharks still dream of getting one.
As a Knights fan talking to other Knights fans, you have no idea how many times I have referenced this comeback when fans get too cocky. This year in the playoffs and the final, I could not get this loss out of my head. Every game, 10min left in the 3rd I would always think "is this where we fall apart again". Luckily it didn't happen, but this HANDS DOWN is one of the top 5 comebacks in NHL history. We didnt lose cause of the bad call, we lost because we let the bat call rattle us, resulting in the complete collapse of our play style.
watched this live and remember SCREAMING with joy when this was all going down after EVERY sharks goal. Greatest game of hockey ive ever seen
Vegas still won the cup so in a way this was a blessing lol
Still would’ve been a five minutes penalty to Stastny instead for shoving Pavelski down like that
I remember watching this with my roommate from Oakland and we were literally jumping and screaming for every sharks goal
