Told ya about the cap issues and looking like toronto……
So its basically we trade Cat to whoever before training camp and get less than optimal return for him since the teams on his list dont seem to be an option, or we have to deal with trade rumors all season, then either move him at the deadline while pushing for a playoff spot or watch him walk away for nothing next July
What does Nylander's no trade list look like
Clearly, if DeBrtincats camp is talking to other teams, then they are close to a possible deal. The fact that they are not getting the offer they would like says something about DeBrincat and his value. So isn't he testing the market now then?
Id rather have a guy like Tarasenko and an upgraded bottom 6 than keep Cat and have to downgrade the bottom 6.. Norris will more than replace the points from Debrincat next season so even with a downgrade on the LW there that line will still be overall better
That’s the issue. He wants to be a ufa next year. Which means only looking for a 1 year contract. Nobody will want to sign him. Ottawa will have to sign him for a year and get screwed next year. That’s my feeling.
Dorion says that the Cat will score 40 next year because he's trying to trade him, and the Cat may indeed score 40. But would you expect Dorion to say that he's gonna have another down year?
Dorion better does something because Toronto is loading up. They got Bertuzzi and Domi and Klingberg. Toronto is going to be a hard team to beat if we do nothing. When do we bring up Sokolov? He will not stay much longer in the AHL. He's proven that he can score, so he has to be traded or he makes the team.
If Debrincat had hit the open nets instead of posts early in the season, we would have won a lot more of the 1-goal loss games that ruined our November, and we would have made the playoffs this year. He needs to prove that he can hit the net instead of the posts with people other than Kane before anyone signs him for big bucks and long term.
You need to kick one of Tkachuk, Norris, Batherson or Stutzle off the PP if you want to get DeBrincat to 40 goals so he can do better in the market. Screw the guys on the team that are committed to the Sens and their future.
I originally wanted to keep the Cat. But looking at the salary cap left I really want him moved out now and use his salary for a couple of nhl caliber middle 6 guys
Finally. Someone who's done the math. We're past the point of no return. Teams are going to figure out that we need to move Alex and take advantage of it
The whole thing about a list of teams he'd liked to go is more of a curtesy than anything else. Ottawa didn't need to do that and it shows that they have respect towards their players. So how can DeBrincat or any player look at this and say: "Hey these guys really care!" But at the end, it is really a business and getting a good return is important.
I'm more than happy that we don't have Bertuzzi. Like he's a good player… That's it
I hope they just sign Formenton, then that will solve a lot of problems. Sick of the Debrincat bullcrap. Such a distraction and negative outlook for the team and fans. We have Brady, Timmy, Claud, Drake, Korpisalo, Chychrun Chabot Sanderson, Zub, Pinto, Greig, Boucher… so much more to focus on then a spoiled, runt player but doesn't want to be here.
Comtois and Gurianov.
I would trade DeBrincat for Alexis Lafreniere. RFA for RFA. This kid needs to play and have a coach that is good with youngsters
JGP, next years 1st, Wally or Maggio for Debrincat. Ottawa won't get a better deal from the other few teams interested in the Cat. Sorry Sens fans, don't give me heat, give it to your GM.
Are you guys on Spotify or just youtube?
PD as usual gonna screw it up. Other teams are just waiting for PD to lower
his ask… and he will.
Goaltending has been the problem with Ottawa for 30 yrs… it didn’t change this year. It will be a problem again next season unless we upgrade our 5-7Ds.
Debrincat + first round pick (top 10 protected) for one of Vegas bottom 4-6Ds + Chandler Stephenson
