Am I the only one who doesn’t really want this trade to happen?

How long will SJ hold out? Camps start in what, a month?

I’d assume the trade is petry, a first or two, Maybe a 3rd, sam poulin/Owen pickering/guy we just took with maybe one of those picks going to a team to retain salary. San Jose either thinks they can get more or we haven’t offered all of that yet.

I wonder if the Sharks are just a tinge salty over 2016 still.

The hold up is SJ not wanting to eat half the salary. But they have no leverage here. You’re the ones that gave dude that contract and then let your franchise stop contending. Gotta suffer those consequences. If you’re not willing to take 50%, then you’re not getting draft picks and prospects and NHL ready players. Sorry but you don’t get it all lmao.

Sharks think they can get a good haul for EK, when he is basically a cap dump casualty for them. The new GM there doesnt want to look weak, so he is trying to play hardball. Unless he wants to eat at least 3 mil a year retained and take on a bad player in return, they are not getting a big haul for EK.

Pull the trigger on this trade immediately.

i think the main reason the trade hasn’t gone through is petry’s fifteen team no move clause (including san jose) and i think they’re still looking for perhaps a third team to take him on. he was linked to san jose around the beginning of free agency though.

Thought maybe we were a step closer with the Canes signing DeAngelo. Not sure if they’re still interested in EK and/or Tarasenko. Who knows anything anymore, what is life.?

Honestly my guess on the hols up is finding a 3rd team to take petry and his salary since SJ isn’t on his trade list

I feel like this is getting done by August 1st. I don’t necessarily think he is coming to the Pens but I feel like the Sharks are losing this battle and will need to trade him soon to get anything.

The issue isn’t so much about an exchange of players it’s about how much of EK’s contract will be required to be held by SJ. I was listening to NHL tonight podcast and the Sharks want to unload the entire contract unfortunately every team’s GM are not remotely interested.

I heard a rumour that Toronto is willing to move Nylander and TJ Brodie for EK but SJ doesn’t want to eat salary

Hate me if you want but I’m ok with Malkin going.

I mean if you don’t know the holdup is EKs fat whopping shitstain contract and the fact that the sharks want to pay 0% while the pens have exactly 0 cap space for it then you just have been under a rock for the last year. I’m honestly still confused why pittsburgh thinks EK makes them a contender. Get a goalie and depth lol

really think the 3rd team and the retained money are holding it up at the moment!

I think the biggest problem is San Jose seemingly treating Karlson like a mid twenties perennial Norris defenceman and not the mid thirties defenceman who’s had his first season in years even close to what he’s worth.

  18. Maybe Karlsson recalled that Matt Cooke’s skate injured his Achilles tendon and now wants reparations? Nah, Petry’s no movement is the issue.
