So what you're saying is, if Karlsson comes he'll be a bad fit on the PP because he shoots right, whereas others who've held that position in the past like Malkin and Gonchar were left shots? I guess if he were a penguin, they'd be forced keep Rakell on the top PP and sit someone else on that unit, like either Geno or Guentzel. Maybe they can draw straws so they don't feel singled out, all the while telling them: "if you ever want to win a cup on this team again, this is what we have to do."
Back to the Karlsson thing…the more I think about it, the less and less likely I think he'll ok coming to the Penguins unless he and the Sharks really have no other option. Of the teams he's being courted by, not only do the Penguins have the worst odds of winning a cup out of all of them, but he no doubt sees this team becoming exactly what the Sharks are in no more than a couple years, and he'll be stuck in the same situation once again. If a player is going to change lanes, you don't want to get in the one that puts you right behind the garbage truck again.
Why doesn't Dubas just remove the "Assistant to the" GM from Spezza's title?
I guess if nobody is going to be our gm, ill do it. I don't think I'll be any worse than hextall. 🙂
