Jarnkrok is a MUST KEEP…..a 20 goal scorer who only makes 1.7 million for the next 3 years.
Knies and Homberg , will start the year in the minors. Unless they trade Brodie, they are going to have to waive Giordano. They are going to run with 11 forwards.
They made a mistake to let go Gustafson on D. He could have replaced Brodie.
Robertson has to start in the minors and you don't touch him until you need a forward.
Waiving Timmons is a big mistake.

The Leafs are still an elite team with the Playoffs assured.
You guys dont think Boston losing their #1 centre, top penalty killer, best overall player will affect the teams performance is a crazy take. This team had a historic season last year, there is no way they'll be able to do that again, like they could easily miss out on playoffs this season.

As a Sens fan, you can't count out the Sens new D core. Last year they had a ton of injuries back there, and they only added Chykrun towards the end of the season and then he got injured. With the development of Sanderson (literally our #1D now, if you haven't check him out, he's the real deal), and everyone being healthy to start the season, this will be one of the strongest D cores in the division/conference (NHL?!). If not, who else? Sanderson, Chabot, Zub, and Chykrun, not many have a better top 4. Obviously I'm a bit biased, and only time will tell how this works out. Looking forward to the Battle of Ontario being serious again!! Cheers lads
Even sending two minimum salary earners to the minors doesn't cut it. One of the higher paid guy (at least $3M) has to go.
Timmins is better than Holl and will be gone quickly if he’s waived.
Starting at the 16:55 mark there is discussion about whether the Senators, with the acquisition of Tarasenko off free agency, have a legit shot of finishing in a top-3 divisional spot this season. I wouldn’t dismiss the possibility outright although last season, the Canucks had lots of production from different forwards, but a very leaky defence core. Korpisalo has in the postseason played at times like Thatcher Demko, but last postseason didn’t. Key for the Senators will be Korpisalo being like Demko, something that isn’t a guarantee. Who knows if Tarasenko will turn into a legit DeBrincat replacement given the Russian forward’s age?

Was just looking up Ottawa at capfriendly , just asking because I am not a Ottawa fan. What happens when the 2 players on IR come back, and you need your goalie and Norris at 10m. Also Shane Pinto has no contract . They only have 900k of cap space.
As for Toronto they can NOT go with the defense they have now. That is a guarantee early playoff exit. For me Brodie has to go because he has no grit , his playoffs especially against Florida were pathetic. And the real hard part is finally get poor Rielly a true 1st pair right hand partner .Then decide which Of Lilligren or Timmins you keep as 3rd pair and maybe get a another vet for 800k to 1m who has some grit to share year with Giordano as 3rd pair partner. So let's hope Treliving can work more magic on defense.
