If you look at all the pairs Chiarot played on last year, the offensive numbers (both counting and analytical) for his partner tanked. So even though Maatta/Chiarot had an xGF% of 40, I would rather they do that on limited 3rd pair minutes then drag down the Wings more offensive Dmen.

Edvinsson will probably take a while to rehab that injury. The interesting question for me is IF Edvinsson heals and forces his way out of Grand Rapids, who do you bench? Putting Ben Chiarot in the press box doesn't look good with all of the money that the Wings spent on him, but if things go as expected? It might be necessary.
4-0-0 Florida. 0-3-1 Detroit. Blowout losses in Florida. One goal losses in Detroit. Last win against Florida was February 20, 2021. 0-7-2 since and they have been outscored 15-40. Even with the roster changes this is a bad matchup for the Wings.
