Give a thumb’s up if you think JPat won the debate (no contention in three years)
Give a thumb’s up if you think Sekeres won the debate (contention in three years)
I think mat has a point yes they can 👍
Canucks are f uped they traded bo horvat and jason dickenson know they need a center they lost i shenn oel bear / replace wih soucy / cole Horonek / and teddy beleuger not the answer the other pacific teams are rebuilding and are going to be way better
Lol pettey leaving or he would of signed he is going to Boston😂
mr. sekeres made the best argument here.
Patterson with my vote. Top 2 in the west in 3 years ….. You'll never convince me of that.
Love these debate segments – keep em coming.
JPat
JPatt wins. Canucks will need at least 5 years to contend.
Mr, Sekeres has my vote.
The only hopes I have for the Canucks in the next two or three seasons is to rise to the upper rankings of the Pacific Division and make the first round of the playoffs. The Pacific Division is tough!! It has the Stanley Cup champs. It has the 2 greatest hockey player in the world with Oilers, who are becoming serious Stanley contenders.. It has an excellent new team in the Kraken. It has LA who are always good. Sharks and Anaheim will be working hard too. Canucks are going to have to become a hell of a great team to beat these other teams. It's not going to happen overnight.
I think that people are voting on what they think will happen, so of course they're negative. The operative word is "can". I have a sense that this regime is building a viable structure, that the cumulative effect of their many small decisions could engender surprising results over time. Just a hunch.
Jeff won this win until we get the cap room. we will keep missing the mark so sad but true😢😢😢
Another rambling comment…. This topic is why team really needs a good set of drafts which is why once again I'll bitch about the Hronek trade. Yes, Filip is a really good D man ad will help us right now. But it's a waste of time and drafts. Had we kept those 1st and 2nd picks we could have had a much better draft situation. We picked at 17th for our second draft of the day and there were SO many interesting and very good players available. They could have drafted BOTH the Swedish Right hand D men or better in my mind taken Benson and one of the Swedes because that would have changed the complexion of the draft too. These guys won't be ready to push for a cup for 3 years at minimum and it would be perfect timing for this team as Hughes and EP40 would be in their best forms at 27-28. All those bad cap issues would be gone and no doubt we'dhave even more cheap drafts ready to go. The key is a bunch good players at entry level contracts. That's how you win.
PS The dream scenario is if the Canucks earlier drafts finally work out. I'm talking Hoglander, Podkolzin, Klimovich and Lekkerimaki and any other of the numerous signings they just made. That's just as important as future drafts maybe more so. And no they arent all going to be 20-30 goal scorers but they need to fill roles on the team
Sekeres wins the debate, but he didn't change my mind. So I voted for Matt but I agree with Mr Patterson.
Great segment guys.
Strong down the middle, Hughes, Peterson, Demko. Now to surround them with complimentary parts and they will be there.
So the argument is that the other teams in the conference will go downhill? I just dont see it. The biggest obstacle is still that they have no grade A prospects coming that will deliver way over their cap hit
I want some of what ever sekers is smoking
Matt wins, but I liked Jeff as well.
Pretenders already have there run 2020 lates points to make the playoffs During January same old same old no contend
They can contend for a wildcard spot.I look at Vegas, Edmonton, Las Vegas, Seattle, above and then I look at Anaheim and Arizona and then lie to myself that we must be better than Calgary.
By the end of the three years the mngmt team needs to have hit on the draft. I think they made enough big trades, Horvat out Hronek in. They just need a couple preseason/early season depth moves that pay off and we have a stronger chance on Wcard1.
Paterson my vote though because as currently constructed there are too many ?? and we need to see 15games in and get a true feel if its a repeat or growth.
