Hello once again and let’s take a far too early look at how these three teams shape up in their chances of reaching the playoffs for the first time in a long while.

Buffalo and Ottawa. I think the Sabres get a division spot while Ottawa sneaks into a wild card spot. Boston misses the playoffs
You’re sleeping on Ottawa and I love it. An uninjured Norris plus Tarasenko and Kubalik are most definitely going to add to this team.
1: Sabres
2: Senators
3: Red Wings
It shouldn't surprise anyone if Buffalo and Ottawa both make the playoffs this year.
Overall, I believe Detroit is probs the most complete. I see any tandem combination of Husso (assuming he bounces back), Lyon, or Reimer providing league average goaltending. Their player additions (some overpayed clearly) adds adequate depth and experience to the equation too. Buffalo is yet to fix their goaltending issues and Ottawa is still sticking with DJ Smith who is probs the worst employed coach atm. This is a tough conference and teams will need to be solid all around to guarantee a playoff spot.
you forgot Lyon for detroit
Maybe a hot take but I think detroit is the dark horse here.
Sens will compete for 1st in east and are a cup contender.
I'm stunned by how low people are ranking this team.
You should be on TV or radio man. Best hockey talk in the world.
Go Sabres
Coyotes
I could see Yzerman taking on Jeff Petry's contract for a 2024 1st round draft pick. Detroit has over 8 million in cap space at the moment. Detroit could also send back Gustav Lindstrom or possibly Ben Chariot at 50% retained.
Shannon as a Sabres fan I love your Sabres gear.
Ottawa will have josh Norris back this year
Buffalo
my atlantic teams in are toronto buffalo tampa and ottawa in wildcard
Yzerman a litte bit overvalue as GM for me sorry guy
Sens. Improved goalie, better defence, replacing debrincat with kubalik & tarasenko + getting Norris back. Easily make up the few points they were out by last season.
Id be curious what Detroit is expecting out of Compher, paying that much for a 30 point guy seems odd even for a team with money to spend
Both Sabres and Senators should get in unless the Bruins do a surprisingly good job overcoming the loss of Bergeron
Neither of those 3, probably. You have NJ, Car, Tor, NYR, Flo, Bos and TB who will make the playoffs. Then you have NYI, Pit, Buf, Ott, Det who will fight for the 8th spot.
Did THG forgot to mention that Chychrun is also an addition to the Senators' roster? Was added at the trade deadline but still a recent addition because he was injured, so we didn't see him really yet.
All 3 would make the playoffs. I know that is a bold statement to say the least, but they're ripe to be in the playoffs. Not making it is a complete failure.
I'm a believer in Levi. Buffalo's GAA will be better. Ottawa will be better too, but I think they're borderline. Detroit I don't really follow, so I'm not going to guess. 🙂
Norris being healthy is huge for Ottawa but hard to see two of these teams make it
Who drops out of the playoffs in this division if any of these teams make it in?
We will know if Ottawa has a chance at returning to the playoffs after November (and whether Smith and Dorion keep their jobs). Right now I think the assessment is sound, but I wonder if more than one of these three teams make it? Thanks for the video!
