There’s a lot of talent in the Atlantic (other than Montreal)…it’s just too deep.
My order:
1. Oilers (just have to get defense)
2. Leafs (now needs new defense)
3. Senators (they're be a playoff team soon)
4. Canucks (could be good in a few years)
5. Flames (all over the place)
6. Jets (most likely starting a rebuild next season)
7. Habs (star players get injured and not good defense or goaltending)
I don't understand your fake toughness point. Reaves is toughness incarnate. If he's dressed no one is gonna take liberties with stars I can tell you that and Bertuzzi and Domi will get away with a lot of things just by his presence.

In three years Edmonton or ottawa, possibly Vancouver will be on top since the leafs will lose matthews and are losing nylander. Their goaltending is okay and their future really isnt bright. Its safe to say they need to get somewhere in the playoffs this season or guys wont want to play in toronto if they constantly lose in the playoffs
My Order:
1. Leafs
2. Oilers
3. Senators
4. Canucks
5. Jets
6. Flames
7. Habs
Oilers are good right now but I think they are going to lose mcdavid wich wil put a dent in there team
You forgot forward; Josh Norris. he should be ready to go. If he and most senators can stay healthy, they are a shoe-in to make the playoffs.
I'd say the Sens have the most complete team. Oilers and Leafs have a better first line but the sens have better forward depth, and the sens now have a better D core than any Canadian team (if they stay healthy). The D core of the leafs is horrible. DJ Smith might be the weak link, but we'll know after the first 15-20 games
Leafs are going to be annoying to play against. They got Reaves, Bertuzzi, and Domi. I'm not even mentioning McCabe who throws huge hits and same with Lafferty. Apparently Tre has interest in Zadorov

Caufield on pace for 47 goals last year, Suzuki likely a point a game player without injuries to everyone else, Dach improving, add Newhook + Anderson/Slaf/Monahan/Dvorak/Gally/RHP. Defence with Matheson could be a 50+ point guy + another year of development for Guhle/Harris/Xhekaj/Barron/Kovacevik, not to mention Mailloux could be better than all those guys. Don't think we're a playoff team but I think we'll surprise if healthy

I'm looking forward to the tire fire that will be the Toronto Maple Leafs. They'll get a subpar return on Nylander just because they have no leverage. They still need to shed 2 million dollars in salary by training camp and I'm not sure what move you make there. Travis Yost of TSN suggested Reaves and Timmins on waivers which you know teams will pick up those players just to mess with Toronto.
That D-core is suspect and not very deep.
Matthews not signing an extension yet is VERY note worthy and I'm surprised Leaf nation isn't in panic mode because for me it's very obvious that he's eyeing the door.
