The Wild are one of the few teams that have a whole lot of cap space this season, so instead of letting it go to waste and finishing the season under the cap ceiling, Guerin is taking on just a portion of contracts to get a few draft picks. They got a 4th rounder in 25 from the Leafs and a 5th from the Bruins in this years draft. Teams can only retain salary on a contract three times, so if the Wild are committed to doing this instead of selling the players on the roster (they will probably do both) then they can retain a portion of salary one more time. +300 to miss the playoffs looks interesting
Perfect fit for hathaway. He’s he of the dirtiest players in the league with a serious temper. He will fit in with Boston perfectly. Marchand and Hathaway on the same team? Wow. If the bruins don’t win the cup I will be blown away. Pens fan here
