  2. From my perspective, the reason why Scheifele and Hellebuyuk haven't yet been traded is some combination of the following possibilities:

    1) Jets managemet is over-valuing the players. For example, if the Jets are wanting 2 1st round caliber young player for Scheifele and 3 1st round caliber young players for Hellebuyuk, teams might be balking at that price.

    2) the players are over-valuing themselves. If Hellebuyuk wants an 8×$9.5 entension and Scheifele wants an 8×$9, it’s going to be impossible to find a team willing to do that.

    3) maybe the term that the players are demanding is the issue. Based on their ages, maybe teams are only offering a 5 or 6 year deal, rather than an 8 year deal, which the players are demanding. This would be a big roadblock too. For example, maybe a team is willing to pay Hellebuyuk $8.5 or $9, but only on a 4 or 5 year deal.

    Seems like it's a game of chicken going on…. between the players and the potential trade team.
