Cutter Gauthier clarifies reason for missing Flyers development camp.

Basically lots of hockey. Wanted time with Family. He mentions goal is to join Flyers after this season.

  1. Not surprising, tbh. Dude played so much hockey this year. Not to mention I don’t think he could’ve attended camp anyways because of NCAA rules?

Always good when one of your top prospects doesn’t attend team activities at a hockey camp because he’s had too much hockey. Typical for the flyers

People were making way too big of a deal about this. Gauthier has played so much hockey. Don’t blame him whatsoever.

I can understand that reasoning if he needed a break for a few days, but it is really strange that this wasn’t clearly communicated to Briere beforehand. Briere was unsure when he was originally asked what Gauthier’s reasoning was.

There is not a single player in the Flyers system who has played more hockey this summer than Cutter Gauthier. The experience and development that comes with playing in multiple international tournaments is far greater than anything he could’ve hoped to gain from attending a self-paid development camp.

He clearly takes his development seriously and has never said anything negative about the Flyers (as a matter of fact, has only said positive things about the organization). I take 0 issue with him needing a break

Can’t wait for this dude to arrive

It’s a non-issue. Once he scores his 1st NHL goal no one will care about this
