Unfortunate for Jesse not to be able to get a one way deal. It has to be a huge year for him and his professional future, hope he does well.

  2. Team needs to clear out Hoffman & Armia ASAP. Dvo too probably. It’s not good if your youngish NHL able bodied can crack the lineup because of dead weight.

The guaranteed amount will tell us where management sees him.

2-way? He likely gets claimed if on waivers. He had some success last season in NHL. Someone would take a chance and put in a claim imo

Damn, a 2 way? That’s pretty cold blooded, Geoff. Especially since he signed off on Primeau getting a 3 year 1 way.

I thought he played well enough last year to earn that NHL salary. The ball’s in Jesse’s court now, though.

We’ve been waiting for this for a while haven’t we?

I wonder if the discussions between the two sides were amicable? If I had to bet I’d say no in the sense that Jesse was no doubt looking for a multi year deal & didn’t get/earn one in the eyes of management.

So how is he feeling today? A one year – two way deal with the potential exposure to waivers. Should he be happy or pizzed?

Will he “show those b*stards” in management or flounder?

    Will be interesting

  7. No salary published yet. Minimum deal is 775K x 1 year. That’d be less than his qualifying offer of 875K.

    Still RFA next summer.

Has to go through waivers. I’d waive Armia before him and see if any team is willing to eat that 3.4×2 left on Armia’s deal.

That sucks for Jesse but I am hopeful he will get a cemented NHL spot after this season with some other bodies moving out

Huge win, this guy progressed nicely last year. Sneaky skilled, good skater with an underrated shot

  10. Am I the only person who watched his 20 games or whatever last year and thought he was invisible?

The guy is a career AHL player. You need more than a good shot to make it in the NHL and Ylonen just doesn’t have much else in his game.

Even with everyone injured he couldn’t make himself stand out like RHP did.
