Just throwing this out there, paychecks don’t come during the playoffs. LTIR is there so a team can fill a gap from loosing an injured player.

They exploited a loophole. Any team would absolutely do it if it was still within the rules.

The Lightning themselves brought the issue up at the GM meetings, and the other GMs did not want to close this loophole.
No harm no foul, tampa lost a cup in 2015 to Chicago doing the same thing with Kane. There is no salary cap during the playoffs. I’ve never seen why this is even an issue for people. It’s not like they started icing players that weren’t on their team. It’s a non issue to me

Why would one of the players give a shit
