Aho just signed for 9.75 for 8 years. Hoping we can keep 97 once all the dust settles but these 8 year deals are too long. It shows you how crazy two 13 year deals were in signing.
As for Guerin, he is building a long term contender and as you mention, the target timeframe is two years. I like the promotion and still feel the Wild are driving the car the correct direction.
Ownership committed to BG a long time ago. They knew his plan from the jump. The very second that those two contracts were bought out, that very instant, ownership KNEW it would be several seasons of cap hell. Eevryone knows it. It's not a secret. The Wild are a .500 team for the next two seasons. After that? ALL IN. ALL IN. Billy BETTER make it rain and sign the f*ck outta the top FAs going into that season when those cap hits drop off.

Wild fans have to remember that without the emergence of a 5th round draft pick from Russia, the Wild don't even make the playoffs the last 3 years. #97 has made life easy for East Coast Billy. No #97 the last 3 years, and we would have seen Guerin's skill or lack there of, at putting together a team.
