The Rangers look like contenders now but it would be failure if they don't make the Conference championships. Pfft
Man, it is going to look and feel so wrong seeing him in anything but a Hawks Jersey. Hossa having to retire early was devastating; trading Keith and losing Seabs was crushing, Quennville getting fired was maddening, Toews health problem have been discouraging, Kane getting traded now is truly the end of the dynasty. It was a dying dynasty for years but as long as you saw Toews and Kane together it felt like the team was still there.
Honestly, over the last 2 years one of the only interests I had in the team was seeing Kane make a run for Mikita franchise record; I wanted to see him retire as a Hawk. Now what is there to look forward to; at least 10 more years of spinning the wheels rebuilding? It will be at least another decade before they figure this out. This sucks.

Definitely going to miss Kane. What sucks besides him on another team is that the Hawks didn't even get a player or a 1st round draft choice. The NYR had the Hawks by the short hairs. There was only one team Kane gave the Hawks permission to trade him to and the NYR knew it. It was either get what you can or wait until his contract runs out and he becomes a free agent and you get nothing.
