Sadly enough, even Seider got cooked last season. Prior to trading Hronek too. Love some of Stevie Y’s moves, but that trade was kind of a head scratcher. Does he want Seider and a bunch of AHLers out there? Poor kid.

It’s not good but it’s not a disaster either. Gost is pretty equivalent to Hronek and might actually be an upgrade on the PP. Hronek had his best stretch of hockey of his career when paired with Maata only to decline when paired with Chiarot. I can see Gost and Maata being as effective as Hronek/Maata was last year. Holl is substantially better than any 6th D the Wings had last year. It’s not sexy but it’s certainly better than years past. Believe it or not, on paper it’s another step in the right direction.

Steve Yzerman will always be my favorite player of all time. I have serious doubts about this team and some of his decisions. I did not like our draft this year or at least our number 1 pick. But I’m an Lazy Boy GM who knows Jack shit and he built the Bolts into a powerhouse so I hope he proves me wrong.

I’d say a really solid pair? Chiarot can play 20+ minutes vs best lines and Holl is just good in general.
