Now that we’re past the draft and free agency it’s time for the yearly /r/DetroitRedWings prospect ranking thread! As for how you vote it’s completely up to you: some may weigh ceiling and/or upside the highest, others may prefer a prospect that’s closest to the NHL – there’s no wrong answer on how to vote.
A new poll will be posted every 2-3 days depending on how close the voting is until we finish the top 15 prospects. I’ll include 10~ prospects every poll and will add one new prospect after each poll so discuss in the comments below who you feel should be added next.
Check out the subreddit’s previous rankings here (starting from 2018!): [LINK HERE](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qmkO8YqMlR7TzWDaaWu9yMWKnIDTwNNe/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=112624943015473579853&rtpof=true&sd=true)
**NOTE**: Prospect criteria will be defined using the [NHL Guidelines](https://www.nhl.com/info/hockey-operations-guidelines).
**REMINDER!** Avoid downvoting those you disagree with in the comments, this whole exercise is focused on discussing prospects. People *WILL* have different opinions the farther we go.

Alright toss ups the rest of the way, I think this top 13 is pretty well defined as the best of our prospects
Which is kind of crazy that we have Mo, Raymond, Berggren all graduated and still over a dozen guys that have very strong upside, now it’s time everyone else
Neiderbach has fallen
Buium or Viro maybe
Either Dower Nilson brother ehh
Screw it going with future Norris Winner Brady Cleveland
I say Buium for this one, but #15 could be Anton Johansson with his recent play. I’m personally high on Kevin Bicker who might be the next low-key late round gem. Either Dower-Nilsson could work too. Like I said last post, it’s very nice to still be struggling to pick this far down the prospect pool.
Bradley Cincinnati because if I don’t he will hurt me and I’m a very pain-motivated person.
Getting blurry at this stage. I went Doucet for the breakout potential, but heavily considered Savage, Buium (sp?), and James.
At this point all I have is the prospect tournament to go on and Anton popping off lately. Ima go Anton tho honestly idek.
I voted Clevaland simply because I love me some physicality.
ShaiBuium ium-ium ShaiBuium Roll Call!
My name is Coltron57, that is my name.
They call me Coltron57, cuz that’s my name!
Roll Call! ShaiBuium ium-ium ShaiBuium Roll Call!
Was debating between Buium and Albert’s name cousin. Don’t remember who I actually voted for, but either way I’m psyched. Our prospect pool is amazing, and I can’t wait to see which of them has what it takes to take the next step!
Buium, Johansson, Doucet, or any of our recent picks could be here for me
I think it’s interesting that only 3 of the top 13 prospects are from the 2023 draft. Usually I’d say most fanbases always get enamored by the shiny new toys, but we as a collective community seem to really like some of these guys that we’ve been able to see develop. I think that speaks well for Stevie’s drafting as very few higher picks have fizzled out early in their development.
Tough one now but I’m going with [Viro.](https://twitter.com/IcehockeyG/status/1346825289641439232) He’s strong defensively but he’s also a good skater and he can transition the puck. That’s exactly the sort of guy you want on the bottom pairing.
Hard to avoid recency bias with AnJo tearing it up in the summer showcase.
Went with Doucet, I know he was overage last year but I want to hope he can keep producing points. We’re going to need a surprise or 2 in that department.
Taking Buium here but I also like NDN, James, or Gibson here. Anton and Bicker are also pretty intriguing to me and I’m watching those 2 closely this season. Fuck, this isn’t easy
