To end the show, Mike and Dave touch on Milan Lucic and Radko Gudas reveal that the Leafs had discussions with both players during free agency and the reasons why they didn’t ultimately sign in Toronto.

To various claims made by one-time potential free agents who had considered playing for the leaves, but didn’t because of too much media pressure, I’d like to counter that last season the Leafs:
– FINALLY had some post-2004 playoff success
– won more playoff games (5) than any Canadian team bar the Oilers (6)
I would like to counter there are legit reasons for any potential free agent to not want to join any, among:
– Canadian teams, of the Canucks, Flames, Jets, Sens and Habs
– other NHL teams, of the Sharks, Ducks, Yotes, Wild (limited playoff success), Blackhawks, Wings, Blue Jackets, Sabres, Pens and Flyers

Matt murray was well enough to sit on the bench as a back up/ No one said he could of gone in the net same as earlier in the season he dressed rather than the Ebug

The main issue here is often being a Leaf means – losing puck battles and fights this century. Now the Leafs were tough to play – way back in the 1960’s. Think Godas and Lucic both view Leaf players like Marner as soft & they didn’t want to be associated with that.
Why wouldn't somebody want to sign in Toronto? Ask Murray. Why are you afraid to say this. Everyone can see this ….instead you make up stories about the media
You think the league should help Toronto with arbitration awards, LTIR, and now force the players you want to play there….sounds like Toronto
The irony that David starts criticizing Gudas for being a bottom of the roster player so why worry about media criticism?
I was really bummed to see Bunting go. He's the kind of pest we need. He riles up the opposition, works his butt off, and sets up his team mates. Also scores goals. Gonna miss him a lot. Gudas is an untalented thug and more of a liability. Lucic isn't a piece they need. Content they aren't here.
No one wants to live in crappy Toronto with its high taxes, wokeness, lockdowns, socialist groupthink, confiscating peoples property, and insane traffic. Much better options in States. I'm a Canadian living in Minnesota , love it here compared to the hell hole of what Canada has become! No synpathy its self inflicted !
