[TheProvince] Ethan Bear: “I would love to come back to the Canucks. I would love to. But that’s how the business goes. I was talking with Allvin and he told me himself ‘we have to clear some cap space,” Other teams have made inquiries, but the door for a return to Vancouver isn’t closed, he said.

    On his injury:
    > “The shoulder’s doing really well,” he said Wednesday from Kelowna, where he and his wife and baby daughter Gracie spend their off-seasons.

    > “I’m gonna take my time and make sure that I don’t rush it. I probably won’t be back until December, though looking at it, I’m probably a little ahead of schedule,” he added, in an upbeat tone.

Doing the world championships seems like a bad move especially if you’re not under contract.

I do hope we can get bear back at a reasonable price for half a season and for both parties. He was pretty steady back there for us last year

I’d like to see Bear back on a cheap 1-year deal. He’s an upgrade on someone like Juulsen/Irwin.

It’s just a gut feeling, but I think they’ll ultimately end up moving Garland between now and the start of the season to give themselves the flexibility to make some other moves.

Opens up a roster spot for Nils Hoglander. Gives them the cap-space to bring back Ethan Bear as depth/late season insurance. And also opens up the space to make waiver claims, or take on other teams cap casualties (I’m thinking of someone like Tyson Jost last season).

Kid’s got a good attitude. Would love to see him back in Jan at 1-year $1mil

I like Bear and I like what he brings, it’d be nice to get him back soon

Once the Myers trade goes through, and Bear heals up a bit more and passes his physical I’d be shocked to not see him back.

He’s easily be the second best RHD on this team and I’m skeptical of Soucy and Cole on the right side when neither has done it for years outside if a little spot duty.

The defence looks a lot better with a guy that knows the team and the coaches on it than relying on Myers to step into the top 4 and then have any list of #9 dmen fill the bottom pairing once an injury hits.
