  1. This kid is going to be a beast for the Wings. Out of Cossa and Wallstedt, I’m glad that Yzerman took Cossa…I like his game a bit better than Wallstedt’s

  2. Cossa is the steal of this draft. Yzerman will make the Red Wings a force like he did with the Lightning with great draft picks.

  3. I like Cossa and hope he does well. It just seems hard to compare Cossa playing in the WHL and Wallstedt playing in the SHL. It'll be fun to see what happens if Wallstedt comes to play for Portland this year.

  4. The only thing that makes me hesitant about having Cossa is my love for Ned. I think Ned is a future superstar goalie. I think this situation is similar to when Stevie had Bishop and drafted Vasy. Eventually he had to trade Bishop. Ned is going to be a stud and fan favorite so it's gonna be tough when we have to get rid of him but Cossa is our future(I just hope he stays healthy cuz goalies that size have a hard to ding so).

  5. Reminds me of Roy a little, being cocky served him well in his career. Well minus the hotdog.

Being cocky only works when you win, lose, and it turns into arrogance.

  6. Cossa has one thing you can't coach. Size! And he will grow a little more. At 6-6 now and maybe a 6-7, 6-8 in a few years is fantastic. You can block a lot of pucks by size alone. If he has work ethic he may develop his skills to go with his size. Yeah, Wallstedt is a great goalie prospect, but Cossa is a close match.

  7. Love his swagger, you can see why they wanted to make sure they got him – he's got the ability and confidence to make the NHL.

  8. Love this from Cossa. In order to be a number1 goalie an elite goalie you have to have that confidence in yourself. You have to know you can back it up with your playing ability.

  9. He’s training in the hockey Canada development program right now with my cousin Brett Brochu😁

I’m gonna ask for a signature

  10. Ya ik his goalie coach he definitely has some swagger. imo he'll be a top 10 tendy and the best one outta the draft.

  11. Guess that explains why Cossa was chosen ahead of Wallstedt. Didn’t understand that pick choice, but this helps make sense of it.

  12. ROFL. People complaining about hockey players being MEAN? Thank goodness these people weren’t around for the NHL in the 70s and 80s. They wouldn’t have been able to handle it. Mario would have cut you with his stick and said “Get out of my way kitten.”

  13. I’ll be honest. I didn’t really know the difference between the potential of Cossa or Wallstedt…I just hoped (and kinda had a feeling) that Yzerman took one of them. Now after seeing interviews and breakdowns of Cossa, I think he fits the mold of Detroit and our style of play in terms of the attitude/culture/mentality of the city. I’m excited about him.

  14. I tell you what. It's a long way to be that Star Goalie everyone see in Cossa! A lot can happen in the future. As Steve said after the Draft. We hope that this players we selected will bring to us in the near future what we expect from them!! All the other 31 Teams expect the same the players they have selectet. How many players get stars from one Draftclass? Two, maby three?

  15. Surprised you didn't mention what he said right after talking about Walstedt… "I'm going to be the best goalie in this draft… I got picked where I should be." If that's not unbridled confidence, I don't know what is!!
