  1. I think it’s safe to assume he used his family as a negotiating tactic with the Leafs.

I was worried Pridham would leave, so this is good news

    Good for Kyle.

Something tells me he’ll be reunited with Matthews on July 1, 2024.

Edit: you can downvote all you want, folks. There are more compelling reasons to leave than stay. It’s not personal.

  4. He’ll probably do great things there tbh.

I see it as a stall tactic. Someone he wants must be under contract until next year.

So he got what he wanted (but would never get) from Toronto. Congrats.

Can we stop talking about him now?

Who cares…. this is a sub for leafs news. Dubas is irrelevant and works for another team. Get over it.

should be better work-life balance for him this way. it’s always easier to move the family to a new city in a different country, where you don’t know anyone, and work two jobs

Good for him. I just wish we could see all the moves that would/wouldn’t have happened if he had autonomy here.

Lol our fan base is a bunch of angry reactionary knuckleheads (yeah, I said it). Apparently we can’t be happy for anyone that’s ever left the team. The guy put in some solid years for the Leafs and always acted with professionalism and felt very “human” when addressing the media and representing the team. Congrats Dubas, all the best in Pittsburgh.

  11. I thought Shanahan was the power-hungry one?

I’ve never even heard of Kyle Dubas. Who TF is that. Sounds like a loser to me

Bottom line, the team he built should’ve been in the cups finals if not win the last 2 to 3 years. Team was loaded. With the hiring of Boucher, Keefe is on a tight leash.

EA franchise mode, owner mode off. GM sets lines.

Cool. When is he trading for his boy Matt Murray?
