However, would Hughes pay anyone more than Suzuki? Suzuki's contract seems to be the ceiling.
They go for Nylander, im a 35y Habs fan but this would turn me off completely. Not. A. Playoff. Player. Scared of going corners and playing physical. Actually creates room for the other team which is why we won against toronto in 2021. Even Kovalev had more grit
Uhm no. Use that money to buy out bad contacts get more prospects. We aren't making the playoffs on the next 2-3 years. I like the fact that we build from within
Nylander is a fuqin CREAMPUFF. No thanks…
Price's contract is not counted against the cap he is on LTIR.
I can't see Hughes giving out a 10m+ contract to anyone.
Montreal is still 3+ years from being "ready" to push the playoffs. I think we still trade cap space for picks this year.
FINALLY someone is talking about Swayman. I've been sounding that horn for months now.
I live in Toronto and people I talk to (who are Leafs fans) think Nylander is a bum. They're nuts. I told em Drouin for Nylander straight up.
Big pass on Nylander, they are talking about 10-10.5 LOL.
Keep the cap space, we're gonna have to sign Ghule, Xhekaj, Hutson, Slafkovsky, Dach and others in a few years! Free agency rarely works out.
Noooooo !!!! We are not ready yet , Two more years guys !
Never sign Nylander
Caufield/ Suzuki/Nylander
Newhook/Dach/Anderson
Slav./Monahan/Gallagher
RHP.Evans/Armia
Just don’t get marchessault, you want him to help contend for a cup but only on a two year deal, so we’re going to cup contenders in like a season maybe in the last year of his deal? Doesn’t really track with how many of our core players are still u23
Great point guys.
Why not go for it next year?
We should always play to make the playoffs and always go for the cup.
I'm in
Coincidentally I always wanted Swayman in Montreal
Monte, Hutson, logan, and a few others they are going to need to keep some of this money
WE NEED GOALTENTING!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nylander in the long term affects cap space and therefore development. I think our center prospects are solid long term!!! Nylander won't take them to the promised land.
huges n gorton did incredible job. in just 2 seasons (more like 1 and a half), weve offloaded so many contracts trading down moving around diff chips to help our balance sheet look much better while improving our overall roster making it younger, faster, quicker with a fuckload of high quality prospects in our pipeline (for this u must give proper credit to MB as well who traded chips for chips n just kept piling them up for peanuts). we got rid of weber contract at a reasonable loss, and price contract is LTIR so not a major factor, all we got left now is Gally contract which by all means, we can take comfort knowing how much heart he got regardless of points/stats….during our SC push, he was there as a bloody warrior, THAT is what we paid/pay him for when it mattered most he earned it regardless so we can be ok with his contract………….we are in the clear once armia n dvorak are moved. I say keep Hoffman, he can play, i underestimated him his shot is lethal n he's showing improvment on the PP, i see him finishing his career as a 20g/40a//60points player n hopefully he can stay with habs till retirement. habs are doing good at development and re-building, were not focused on stanley cup until we get a few 50wins per season
Marchesseault doesn’t want to come to mtl
No way will Montreal chase Nylander.
Imagine the habs get stamkos and st louis is his coach lol
Don't want Leafs tossed garbage or Bostons for that matter! The fact these guys would si!gn with MTL I Question their loayty .Remember Josh Gorges refused a trade to T-dot because "his heart would not be in it to play for such a rival!" Thatis the type of guy I want on our team. A player that gets what it means to be a Montreal Canadian!
Canucks will give the Habs Boeser for a Bunny Laroque signed jockstrap
