  1. The Kraken were 20-17-4 at CPA last season and I would like for them to surpass “True .500” at home with more wins than losses, including overtime losses. I think this is a reasonable expectation!

  2. Nice breakdown. I do feel that some of these guys will do better in the Kraken system but I don't think we get even close to picking up all those goals without significant improvement from last year's players or rookies. Wins is a different matter, we could match this by increasing our goaltending and lessening mistakes by D-liners, I do think the team roster got slightly better from a defensive point of view. Really for me, the biggest loss I see is scheme related; We used to get an advantage by balancing our TOI between 4 forward lines, forcing the other team to match it or wear down their top lines. We would get goals from the advantage of our superior 3rd / 4th line vs theirs or by exhausting their top lines, which also helped the defense. Now we are much closer to the first Kraken season where we tried to match up top lines vs top lines, this obviously hurts us against teams with superstars.

  3. The thing that’s a little scary is that not only did Donato and Sprong and Geekie bring a lot of goals as pointed out in the video, it’s that whether by talent or luck, they also didn’t allow many goals while on ice and and had some of the best On Ice Goals Percentages on the team.

This means that whoever comes onto the fourth line, Bellemare or Yamamoto for example, can’t simply be awesome defensively and improve or hold the team steady that way. Either they have to be excellent both offensively and defensively OR some other line will have to take up the slack.
