The next captain. A Capital for life.
Tears streaming down my face. I love this man so much. Penguins fans in shambles
Hell yeah!!
Give him all of Mantha’s money.
That is the best news I’ve heard in a while!
SEVEN YEARS
HE’S A CAP FOR LIFE
YEAH BABY
Maybe we get another trade or something later today. Been itching for some caps news.
Super excited that Wilson isn’t going anywhere.
What a deal too! That’s great value for a player like him. Hell yes.
I’m very happy he’ll continue to be a Cap for a long time even thought my gut tells me that contract is going to age terribly.
There is no way this doesnt age awfully. 7 years?
Let’s fucking goooooo.
Thankful for this news with all the conference realignment going on.
I love it! I’m a bit worried about the length, as he’ll be 36 (I think) when the contract ends. If he holds up like Ovie, we’re golden. If he holds up like Nathan Horton or something, it won’t be good.
Even if it’s 7 years this guy is my favorite player so I’m not going to complain, he could’ve easily chosen to get more money and play for another team. Just happy he’s staying as a capital
Fuuuuuck I wish I could upvote this twice. Stanley cup champion Tom “Elite fucking Sniper” Wilson is here to stay! Wooooooooo
you mean he’s not going to Canada??? /s
Rangers GM (making scrambling noises to file a complaint)- What a horrific act of violence!
Great news on a Friday!
Im so glad you people are enjoying this. In exactly 2 years (likely less) when he has 6 years left on his deal and almost $40 million still left owed and you’re all screaming to get rid of him, i’m going to come back to these celebratory threads
GMBM got sick of the whole league begging to trade for him.
Nice i’m glad we avoided doing the smart thing which would’ve been to sell him for a very high price, it’s always good to sign a middle 6 PWF coming off a major injury to a majorly bloated contract. Really smart to give out a contract that will leave one of our only tradable forwards with negative trade value for the rest of his career.
