I’m still hopeful Yzerman signs Debrincat. I’m sure there are some terms they are hung up on but I can’t really come up with any that would be a deal breaker.

I look at it as GM speak. He’s going to say “we’re rebuilding” until we’re not. He’s not going to give the fans false hope…and I respect that. I also think they should trade for DeBrincat, but Yzerman holds all the leverage and he knows it. He’s trying to bring him in on the cheap and not do a division rival any favors.
Overselling your product = dissatisfied buyers. Holland was a terrible GM, Yzerman had to give his misfire picks a look and pretty much start from scratch. Ask yourself what line Larkin would be centering on any of the cup teams.
Our young talent hasn’t taken that step what more proof you need? Debrincat isn’t happening and shouldn’t

the thing about Debrincat is Yzerman could lock him up for 8 years and he'd fit our time line we have so much cap space and he has to use some of it on Seider and Raymond but even after locking them up we will still be close to the cap floor
