  1. With their record, and the goaltending tandem…, how can anyone legit be upset by the obvious Boston #1 ranking??? If a person is upset, it can only be out of jealousy…

  2. The drop for Toronto is criminal. They beat Flordia on the road and totally outplayed Carlonia for most of that game despite an early 2-0 deficit. Come back and beat Nash on the road in a back to back. No way they should fall outside the top 5.

  3. As a Kings fan, your respect for LA is well-appreciated. I personally would probably be cautious in the fact that I think Carolina would probably still be a favorite in a series against LA (if it got to that point) and a healthy Colorado is obviously no joke. But people think this is just an upgraded version of last year's Kings and that couldn't be any further from the truth, this team is definitely faster, more skilled, deeper, and the playoff experience was invaluable for guys like Byfield, Kempe, Durzi, Anderson, Kupari, Moore, etc.

  4. In ANY other season-Bruce Cassidy would be an OVERWHELMING coach of the year winner. Six different goalies, Mark Stone out for most of the season, Jack Eichel has been good, not great. Sensational coaching job. How about a Vegas, Bruins Final. Think Cassidy would love that!!!!

  5. Roy coming back into the lineup for the Knights and he dominates whenever he's on the ice. It really surprises me but his confidence is off the charts.

  6. Ugh, yeah it's a broken record with Boston at #1, but your power rankings bring SO much more analysis and insight to the entire league beyond just the the best at the time!
That being said, I'll usually skip ahead to watch the top 8 just to see who the hot contenders are for the time being, cuz I'm a Bruins fan and know where they stand week to week anyways 😂

  7. Boston is killing it this season. What grit they know how to get it done. It’s just a little scary that it’s possible
A team that got in the season my get knocked out the first round. I mean that’s for any team. But all that work I hope If my team doesn’t win then Boston does. Would be a great ending to a fantastic season

  8. Vancouver Canucks are 11-3 since
    Linus Ullmark scored on them.
    Definitely caught their attention,
so as a Bruins fan, your welcome!

  9. I don't watch only to see who's number one I watch to hear your opinion on every team I watch only leafs games but follow the highlights of other teams and lineups of other teams Boston is number 1 because they are impossible to score against they are a nasty team in front of the net I'm hoping they completely choke in the playoffs so Toronto can see the month of may

  10. Edmonton might go down as the greatest dark horse of all time. Imagine being underrated with 2 of the best hockey players seen in the last 60 years.

  11. If Colorado can go into the playoffs with everyone healthy but Landeskog, we'll be a force to reckon with. If we can get a couple of our defenseman healthy to add defensive depth, I def think we at least make it to the WCF.

  12. Rangers should probably be ranked higher, beat the Penguins 6-0, Preds 7-0, split with Carolina, and beat the Panthers. Great scoring depth and goaltending, great record this week, should deserve to be where Carolina is imo.

  13. Arizona already knows where they will be drafting, now they want to sign som UFA to have a decent season next year

  14. I really don’t love how much focus is put on Bedard. It’s a ton of pressure for a young kid who hasn’t even come into the league yet. Maybe I’m overthinking this, but it feels unfair to the kid.

  15. I honestly think LA Kings is the "dark horse" in the west. Unless the stars align and the Avalanche get all their pieces back, LA will be really difficult for anybody in 7 games.

  16. Next week for April fool's please do the power rankings backwards. "Boston may be breaking win records but they gave up a goal so I had to drop them 31 spots" 🙂

  17. carolina has beaten much better teams along the way here lately…and in my opinion the top east teams are much better than top western this year

  18. Re: the NYR…
SO – its not just that they're 8-1-1 in their last ten; its that those ten games were essentially the first ten with our 'new look' team (even as they're JUST starting to develop chemistry/Gallant figuring out the best combos etc) with the additions of Tarasenko and Kane to the top 6 as well as Motte to the bottom 6 so that shows how big an improvement they've made as the team finally figures out the best way to utilize them (that 10game run also included back to back shutouts of 6-0 and 7-0, some other wins vs decent teams and the one regulation loss coming to a good Carolina team whom we then beat two days later – plus we just got Lindgren back so we're basically at full strength and getting momentum (as well as Igor getting a lot of momentum too) a the perfect time – the KID lines been on fire lately too esp Chytil and they say we lack exp but almost all these players inc the young ones were part of a DEEP run to game 7 of the Conf. Finals JUST LAST YEAR! (and the truth is we have TWO elite 'top lines' 1a and 1b – our 3rd line the KIDs is as good as most 2nd lines in the league and even our fourth line would EASILY be 3rd liners on most other teams esp Goodrow and Motte) and our top 2 D lines are insane with Fox/K'andre Miller/Trouba/Lindgren and though our 3rd d pairing being a combo of Schneider/Mikkola/Harpur i think they're still a mid level/average 3rd D pairing but def the only thing close to a 'weak link' this team has

Obv depth/indiviudal skill doesnt win championships but it reminds me of the Eagles NFL season last year where they didnt always get favored in matchups but they had on a player by player basis, the deepest/best roster in the league but obv it didnt translate to a Super BOwl this yr (though finishing 2nd outta 32 teams after a one-score SB loss is nothing to sneeze at) but if Gallant can get the chemistry going even more i think the NYR will be flying under a lot of radars until we hopefully get a chance to take out the Bruins in the ECF and prove we're for real…

  19. Shannon … You know that I love you and will always be a fan of yours … But your too hard on Canadian clubs … You scored 4 Canadian clubs in a row , Winnipeg, Ottawa, Calgary & Vancouver as low in your power rankings … I still LOVE you … But I don't agree with this.
But I remain a loyal fan of yours for life. First time I've ever disagreed with you. But still love you !

  20. Clearly, the Bruins need to be in the top spot, but the Avalanche stand above the Maple Leafs and Rangers? Ouch. When things don't go well, Bruins get nasty and find ways to win. If it's not through intimidation, it's shear will. Who's the coach over there? Someone's winning the Jack Adams Award. Cheers!

  21. For some reason your talk on Minnesota being in first made me think of Wes Waltz.

  24. Buddy picks his rankings out of a hat lol. Pittsburgh at 12? You said it yourself, 4-5-1 in L10 and last week went 2-2 how could you justify jumping 5 spots. Wild

  25. So you’re taking Kings over Oilers. I hope it’s the first round it will be fireworks! In my opinion LA is playing their best and Edmonton is just getting better.

  26. Flames beating the Kings last night and the Jets losing to the Sharks putting the Flames 2 pts out of the playoffs, my confidence that the Flames will make the playoffs has jumped up a lot – they have 7 more games, 6 of which are against teams below them in the standings, and 1 against the Jets – if they beat Winnipeg and dont play down to the others, they're in
Now, just how much noise they make in the playoffs is an entirely different story

  27. Their last 2 games against #1 and #2 Boston and Vegas, the Oil won. If they win tonight against #3 LA, it will be interesting to see the Oil ranking on Saturday.

  28. These power rankings seriously need to show some respect to the Oilers. 10th is a joke and after wins against Vegas and LA this week if they don’t jump the validity of these rankings should be in question
