  1. The term "Superstar" has been degraded throughout time and imo too loosely used to describe a bunch of "above-average" stars across the 4 major sports. To me what should define a SUPERSTAR are a TOP-10 athlete in their respective ENTIRE sport that has been viewed in that echelon for at least 3 years (this protects from short hit wonders)…

    For example, if every team started from 0 and had a leaguewide expansion draft, these top 10 names would most likely be drafted with the first ten picks… Now then there are the occasional Top 3 GENERATIONAL STARS that appear one, two or three times during a generation (e.g. Gretzky, Lemieux, Crosby, Ovechkin, McDavid) which usually is about 20 years on average…
