Jim Robson is the legend of all media legends in this province. The original voice of the Canucks outlines how he got the team’s play-by-play job, how he could’ve been a baseball announcer in Seattle and Milwaukee, his first NHL game and a shocking encounter with Tim Horton, as well as his partnership with Tom Larscheid. He also reflects back on his famous calls — “Adams, Greg Adams!” and “he’ll play, you know he’ll play” — during the ’94 Cup run.

My childhood.
The best of "The Best"
Great🍾 💎
LOVED Jim Robson and his daughter in my childhood. Both were huge influences on my brothers and my life.
The Legend of Legends in the broadcast booth! Super cool.
His voice will live forever, so many memories watching the games and his voice saying goal timeless so happy to see him so good
this was great
That was nice of Jim to use an AM signal for old times sake!
This is fantastic. I briefly met Jim Robson probably 35 yrs ago and he seemed like a genuine nice guy. Only 8 minutes into the interview and I'm astounded at how good his memory is about Alberni basketball.
no hockey broadcaster that i'm aware of said "hit the post!" with such forthright conviction, … such dramatic resonance as mr. robson did during his more-than-illustrious heyday … though i have to admit, i'm rather partial to bob cole as my all-time favorite … but i think that most consider the ever-so heavenly "danny gallivan" and his lushly dulcet story-telling harmonies as the most memorable, … he is still considered the true master of the form…
Could never agree with Tom Larscheid telling Jim Robson what was ‘right.’ I always preferred Robson on his own versus Robson with Larscheid. Just my opinion. I wanted a colour guy who knew something about hockey.
i'ld love to talk with jim. i'll be 85 next month and i remember all the whl an pchl seasons and gordie howe's rookie year. i've got so many questions i'd love to ask him. thanks for having him on.
