Sure, buying out all these contracts and attaching picks to them will certainly open up cap space to sign 29 and 97, but the overall team then becomes weaker. Why would those guys want to stay for that?
The hype around the “how do we keep both” storyline is a waste of time. Mc David and Dria will take less to win a cup in Edm together. If they win before the contracts need to be done then that changes everything. The Nurse and Campbell contracts are both in top 10 worst in the league.
they will pay them whatever they want and will never be able to compete in the league because more than a quarter of the cap will go to 2 players. They can have a good goalie and a good second line but the rest of the team is going to be trash haha …

The more they get paid the weaker the team will be. And I don’t believe that the cap will go up significantly
