  1. He's fumbling the puck a lot, and for nothing, I'm questionning his eye-movement coordination, its a red flag to me and probably a clue that he wont project as a Draisaitl like a lot of people are seiing him. He will finish as an energy guy so too high to be taken in the top 20. If you look at highlights you will be impress, but at whole game you can see that. he certainly have a physical advantage even in the Liiga for the moment, but in the NHL this advantage will be diluted.

  2. A couple seasons of development post draft would do him well.

The power forward is the biggest “boom or bust” playing style to draft in my opinion. It is so tempting for GMs to take on a guy like this for the impact an elite power forward can have.

But for every Blake Wheeler or Gabe Landeskog there are 20 Lawson Crouse’s.

Another thing is the timetable on development seems to take longer than other play styles; often power forwards don’t realize there potential until there mid 20’s and they do it on a team other than the one that drafts them in some cases.

  3. I’m curious how he’s going to be considering he doesn’t have a fancy stat line so far at TPS. If he is a power forward then it would suit some teams like ottawa or Montreal like a glove. But it is interesting breaking down a player who’s only 17 and will most likely keep growing as a player. I’ll keep a tab on him

  4. what I like in this video is the raw talent Slafkovsky showed off, and the creativity that most players his age wouldnt think of trying, and his puck protection ability. I do see him as maybe the next Draisaitl at his full potential. Considering how well he is doing in the u20 SM-Liiga I still see him as a top 5 prospect in this draft. if developed correctly he will be a superstar in the NHL when he shows up.

  5. Boom or bust. His size will get him selected in the top 5 for sure

Personally i would avoid him too risky
