As a Philly guy living in Denver, and goes to a bunch of Denver games, he was great out here. He and Brink were really good together. I do worry about Brink’s size in the NHL, so gut says Rizzo might be better in the NHL, but we’ll see if they can play themselves out of the AHL first.

Based on what I’ve read, he has a chance to be a fine bottom 6 guy. Could just be a very good AHL guy though. If nothing else, it’ll be cool to watch him and Brink play together again and see if their chemistry can translate to the pro game. Essentially got him and a 5th for nothing, so it’s all good no matter what happens. Always nice to add promising prospects, especially at the center position.

No. His skating is apparently dreadful. Guessing AHL at best.

Doubtful honestly. But ill gladly take a 5th rd pick and over PPG college player with NHL *potential* any day of week.
Not bad value for a guy we bought out.

If the Canes were ok giving him up, probably not.

No best case scenario he’s a fourth line guy but it is what it is

no lol wtf

He’s a long shot prospect but honestly a fifth and literally anything for TDA is kind of what my max hope was when FA began. Won’t kw what kind of role he can carve out till we see him in the AHL though.
Honestly we got the best case scenario in the TDA saga. Didn’t waste a retain spot, got a pick and a prospect for a guy with almost zero value league wide. Carolina and Philly did each other a solid by going the buyout and second trade, and it even worked out for TDA since he’s now getting two paychecks. Rizzo can fizzle out and I still say this was a win for all parties involved.
