Holland overpaid yet again. The pick should only have been included for at least 2.5 million in retained salary not 250k. Rangers paid less for Kane and got him for 40% of his salary. That said I do believe the team is stronger today than they were yesterday.

Not building for the future at all, but may be more competitive… but with Yama at top6 (can't finish), Bouch in the lineup (serious liability), a rookie goalie & Campbell ($25mil)… a lot to overcome. Funny thing is…adding another body doesnt change the System or how it is operated by the Coaches…the Oilers arent losing games because of the bodies filling Roster Spots its because they cannot handle the d-zone pressure from high energy prolonged puck pursuit forechecking. Maybe Ekholm is the answer but to me hes a lesser Larsson and doesnt fight enough.
