hlinka was pretty lack lustering tournament overall..
i know finland has kiviharju as a great prospect, but i question their defenceman development.. they ran with a bunch of young u18 defence this year, wasnt very good. some of them played at hlinka, wasnt very good. they look square and restricted. fumbles pucks. and what got them into trouble at the latest wjc. same type of systematic mistake.
Every team ( USA White, USA Blue, Sweden, Finland ) won two games in World Junior Summer Showcase. Finland actually won USA White twice! Still you all agree that Finland had a bad tournament. Otto Stenberg scored 4 points in 4 games and he´s next to God ( don´t know from which direction ). Lenni Hämeenaho scored 8 points in 4 games and he was only okay or not too bad. And then you manage to talk about Hlinka Gretzky Cup without mentioning Emil Hemming and Tuomas Suoniemi at all. You talked about some Swedish future second round prospect and about a totally random D-man instead of even mentioning Hemming and Suoniemi. I don´t get it. Hemming and Suoniemi scored both 5 points again Canada ( Suoniemi 3+2 and Hemming 1+4 ) and they had 4 goals and 5 assists overall in the tournament. I think that´s great stats. Sure Finland was on a downward spiral in the tournament as a team, but these two players really stood out. Don´t you think? I would appreciate to hear your thoughts about Hemming and Suoniemi.
