2023 NHL Prospect Pool Rankings, 20-18: Colorado Avalanche, Washington Capitals, New Jersey Devils

In the 5th episode of the countdown to the very best prospect pool in the NHL, Sebastian breaks down the prospect pools of the Colorado Avalanche, Washington Capitals, and New Jersey Devils. First, he analyzes the few high-quality pieces the Avalanche have in their pool – which is severely lacking in B-level talent – highlighted by playmaking centerman Calum Ritchie and exhilarating offensive defenseman Mikhail Gulyayev. Next, he takes a look at a Capitals pool headlined by some newly-drafted big names in powerforward goalscorer Ryan Leonard and shifty skilled playmaker Andrew Cristall. Last, he breaks down the Devils’ pipeline, which features three excellent defensive prospects – Luke Hughes, Simon Nemec, and Seamus Casey – but is severely lacking in depth beyond them.

Tune back in on Friday to see which teams have the league’s 17th, 16th, and 15th top prospect pools!

Colorado: 1:27
Washington: 12:09
New Jersey: 20:25
