The joke here is that Markstrom can't handle any king of contact and will lose it. Also he is very aggressive towards the players attacking the crease and will try to stop the player instead of the puck. He will then start flopping or whining.
The hit itself was illegal, goalie or not. He got suspended was because it was on a goalie. The thing that gets me confused is why the ref s thought it was a charging penalty. To me that looked more like a boarding and roughing penalty (you canāt hit someone with extended arms)
I saw an interview on time with George Laroque, they asked why he was so tough, he said the growing up in the sticks in Quebec, he was the only black player, and when he would get on the ice, the other team's parents would start cheering n-word n-word n-word, so he would go up to the best guy on their opposing team and beat the crap out of him to get them to shut up.
