With the dust settled following a massive three-way deal last week, the Montreal Canadiens and Kent Hughes find themselves in an interesting spot regarding defenseman Jeff Petry. Is there a possibility that the Canadiens might hold on to Petry for at least this year? Petry is a moving part and was a business move by Kent Hughes and the fact that Petry has not been reintroduced by the organization lends credence to this idea.
Petry on a second pair to start the season is pretty good. Right on.
I think Petry and DeSmith are outta here! Professor H will drop the hammer when he is ready and has the best deal in front of him. He loves winning trades! He will get some GM to over pay. (He got a first for chariot eh!) Hughes plays chess while others play checkers!
Petry (50% retained) to New Jersey Devils for Colin Miller, 2025 2nd and a prospect. Then flip Miller to the Ducks for mid round pick or for veteran AHL help in Laval
