  1. Kreider was pushed. I don’t understand how Hoes fans still can’t process this.

  2. Yes, it very well could have robbed them of a cup, or at least a chance at a cup. It was Pryce's best season until that injury, not just in the NHL, but his Olympic performance was also unreal!

  3. Imagine if we hadn't had a decade of Bergevin building a mostly shit team around Price for a decade which led to Price having very little support in the 2021 Cup run. Kreider absolutely stole our chances a decade ago, but Bergevin screwed us out of a Cup 2 years ago by failing to assemble an entire team. Obviously I have no complaints with Suzuki and Caufield now being the future of the team, but he had more than enough time to build a real contender that could've easily won a Cup in that run, and he completely shit the bed.

  4. I don't know if Kreider stole a cup from us. Michel Therrien was never a good coach, and David Desharnais was never a good number one center. But Kreider did stole Carey Price from us – this is where his knee problems started – and I'll never forgive him for this.

  5. Injuries are a big part of the sport. When one guy goes down someone has to step up and take his place.

  6. I'm sure if not a cup, it at least robbed Price of a healthy career. He never had any injury issues before that, but after he kept going back on the injury list again and again and that's definitely what started it. Honestly it still pisses me off to this day.

  7. No guarantee they would of made the Stanley Cup finals but it would of been nice to see Price have a chance to try before he got Kriedered.

  8. This is why I absolutely hate the rangers… most habs fans hate the leafs and bruins but the rangers are way worse

  9. He'll yah but I have let it go now. But let me say this Gary Bettman and crew will see too it that no Canadian team ever wins the Stanley cup ever again. I wonder what under the table bonus Kreider got …. wink wink.🤐

  10. That was my first year watching hockey and I still believe the Habs could have won that series and put up a better match against the LA kings had Price not been injured.

  11. Kreider not only robbed a cup but ruined Price's career as he was never the same after that hit in the playoffs

  12. Erik Karlson basically carried the sens to an ECF game 7, and he was a dman, so to say a goalie is the "only position" that can steal games is a bit of a stretch. Mario Lemieux was a centre, i would say he could steal games. I get the point, but there are a lot of exceptions

  13. idk man, maybe they would have went to finals but im not sure they had the team to beat the LA Kings

  14. 3 reasons no:

    1. Emelin tripped Kreider
    2. LA made mockery of the Sharks by coming back down 3-0, plus if the Sharks win that series, Chicago would have likely come out of the West
    3. In the words of Tarasov, hockey is a game that teams play, not individuals. Chances are better Price is there, but a team game is next man up

Montreal's chances if Price was playing 100%, are even better, they still made it a 6 game series, with a split overtime and Game 6 was 1-0 with the save of King Henrik's career, then that game goes to OT, and if the Habs scored, the argument is MTL in 6, and you never know.

  15. 100% this ruined that Cup drive (not that I think they would have beat LA in the final) and 100% Kreider did that deliberately. He's always been a sneaky dirty turd with zero respect.

  16. I’m a rangers fan so there is prob some bias, but even w price in net for montreal, NYR would’ve taken that series anyway. Tokarski played rlly well against us and was not at all the problem for montreal. I agree that price probably would’ve played better but tokarski had a save% of .916 while price had a .919 during his run. I can’t imagine price would’ve put up numbers that blow tokarski’s out of the park. The reason the habs lost that series was because they couldn’t score. Other than game 5, they never put up more than 2 goals in regulation. Most of that series the rangers dominated puck possession. When the habs desperately needed a goal they couldn’t get one, especially in game 6, the game was 1-0 and the rangers dominated almost the entire game. Smh Kreider did not “steal a cup” from montreal.

  17. To recap:
    – Kreider running into Carey Price ruined their chances
    – After the season, Price recovered and was back in full form, winning the Vezina, Hart, Jennings, and Ted Lindsay awards
    – 2015-2016: Price was going strong and the Habs were the best team in the league… until Price sprained his MCL, which not only ended his season but also ended his time as the league’s best goaltender
    – 2016-2017: Although no longer the best goaltender, Price remained elite, garnering Vezina nominations and was fantastic despite Montreal losing to the Rangers in Round 1
    – 2017-2018: Battered by injuries, Price has a career-worst season as Montreal finishes in the league basement
    – 2018-2019: Price recovers to full form and garners some Vezina talk. Despite this, Montreal misses the playoffs by 2 points
    – 2019-2020: Price plays slightly below average, only making the playoffs thanks to a league stoppage due to COVID-19. Despite everybody predicting Pittsburgh to blow through the Qualifying Round (they got there thanks to a poorly-timed 6-game losing streak coinciding with a 9-game winning streak by the Philadelphia Flyers), Price shuts the door on them in 4 games in a best of five, before falling to said Flyers despite an amazing performance
    – 2020-2021: In his final full season with the Canadiens, Price has below-average stats; nonetheless the Habs make the playoffs in an abysmally weak North Division. Although the Leafs were widely picked to sweep Montreal, they take JT out in Game 1 and, being down 1-3 in the series, mount a comeback to take the series, sweep the Winnipeg Jets, beat the Vegas Golden Knights in 6, and then fall to Tampa Bay in 5, all on the back of Price.
    – 2021-2022: Price, after undergoing knee surgery in the summer, enters the NHLPA Player Assistance Program after struggling with alcoholism, He then underwent extensive rehabilitation on his knee, which was, and still has been, affecting his daily life. Without Price, along with many other players, the Canadiens sink to dead last, where they remained for the season. However, Price returned to the team in April, desiring to get into a game, and closes out the season with a rout. It would be his last ever game: a 10-2 win over the talent-depleted Florida Panthers, who elected to rest much of their roster to prepare for the playoffs. After the season ended, Price moved to BC with his family, unofficially ending his playing career

  18. Kreider ruined Carrey forever in the dirtiest way possible that year. Nothing can change my mind!

  19. Price at his best was scary and magical and one of those few goaltenders who could have smothered both the Rangers and the Kings.

  20. As a Devils fan, I really was pulling for the Habs in that series, but I honestly don’t think they could have beaten LA. All of the serious powerhouses in the league were in the west those years.

  21. Wasn't the first goalie Kreider took out if I recall correctly.

Maybe wouldn't have beaten LA, but a prime price vs prime quick showdown would have been something else.

  22. I don’t think it would have mattered. La was destined to win the cup that year, they were like a well oiled machine. I always say that was the best fundamental hockey I’ve ever seen played by a team. Absolute wagon LA was

  23. Kreider robbed them of the chance to get to the cup that habs team still would have been handled by the LA Kings .
Patches subban plekanec Price Desharnais markov gallagher gionta. lars eller. We had moved on from cammellerri to rene borque. This was a good team not a great one. Better than that Rangers team though.

  24. Kreider did not just take Price out of the series, he also ended his career, not only did the knee injury he cause get worse over the years, but because if it Price had to get knee surgeries to fix the initial problem, untimely failing and not allowing price to play in net to the potential he could have. I also know he could have shown us more of what we saw in 2021, but price pushed to hard, and that was the last chance he'd have at winning a cup.

  25. Carey price during this period was in my opinion the best hockey player in the world. He was pure dominance
