  1. Likely to be part of a trade, too many great young defenders

  2. Strange to have him higher than Farrell.

As far as I’m concerned, Farrell has a better shot at becoming a middle 6 forward than Harris had of becoming a top 4 defenseman. Sure, Harris is already a third pairing defenseman, so he has the higher floor, but undersized third pairing LHD isn’t what teams are lining up for acquire.

I see alot of trade Harris which is understandable, lots of great young guys on D. But I think the best way to describe his game is efficient but if he’s got more offense, that could make him irreplaceable. There might be a more better option or options to trade, time will tell

Watching him last year, I thought he was our second best young D-man, behind Guhle. A bit undersized, but super smart. He rarely gets caught out of position, and he does everything well.

If a player with Harris’s talent ranks 14th among our youngsters, this team has a great future.

I really like Harris, but Guhle is ahead of him, Lane Hutson could end up ahead of him, Arber Xhekaj has a very rare skillset, then Trudeau and Engstrom are in the pipe. Not to mention Matheson is the team’s clear number one at the moment.

Unfortunately, I think Harris will get squeezed out. On the plus side I think we can get some strong capital in exchange.

  6. I think Harris is ahead of where most people on this sub think. Steady, smart defender. Makes his partner better. 20 point pace for a rookie, not bad.
