End of an era.
I’ll never forget that goal against TO.

Thank you, Paul for all of the highlights, the energy, and the shorthanded goals! I truly hope you get to stick around with the Habs in another capacity!

From a waiver claim to a big part of a Stanley Cup Final run, and a leader throughout.
Forever a Hab, thanks for everything.

Just fell to my knees in a belle province pretending to score against Campbell.

Nothing but respect for Byron. Showed up, played his heart out game in game out. Never complained about moving up and down the roster (his biggest asset). Re-signed with the team when he probably could’ve made more in his first real taste of FA. Embraced the city, was always ready to speak French even if it wasn’t as easy for him. Wish him the best and hope he finds a role in the org if that’s what he wants.

He did so much for us but he’ll always be remembered particularly fondly for his spectacular game 1 goal vs Toronto.

Dude was an absolute PK weapon, gonna miss watching him.
Thank you, /u/Galaxy91122

I will always remember this, pivotal moment in the series.
He deserves to be honored! His goal against Toronto is an all time classic!

Will say I’m very happy he retired a Hab, also shoutout y’all over the years, was always a good laugh seeing my inbox filled with a billion notifications anytime he scored

I would honestly consider him an “elite” bottom 6 player during his prime years. A fucking fast swiss army knife. A guy literally every team would love to have.
Hate how injuries derailed his career, but he looks more than willing and ready to transition into a management role.
One of my favorite player to watch. Love you Paul!! Wishing him a happy retirement and a second, long, successful career with (hopefully) the habs organization.

Man, this really sucks to hear but I’ll always be grateful for his time with us. He started off as a waiver claim but later became a 20 goal scorer, an assistant captain, and an important part of Montreal’s core (I’ll always remember that game 1 winner he scored against Toronto off his knees). I wish Paul Byron a happy retirement, I’ll always remember his underdog story.
