On today’s episode of Locked on Wild, Wyatt Garin joins the show as we discuss potential injury call ups for the Wild throughout the season with limited funds available to bring in players outside the organization. We start on offense, with Adam Beckman and Sammy Walker being the most logical call ups with their versatility and ability to play on multiple lines. Those two would be contingent on Marco Rossi making the team. On defense, the Wild are further away from needing a call up due to seven playable defensemen with Alex Goligoski or Jon Merrill starting the year as the 7th defensemen. We finish by discussing the goalie situation, with Jesper Wallstedt potentially a long term call up depending on the severity of injuries to either Filip Gustavsson or Marc-Andre Fleury.

My thoughts on todays show
I cringe every time you bring up
Folignos name.
Zuggs was are worst player the last two months of the season.
Now that Hartman is married maybe he gets his game back still ideally still a 3rd line player.
And I'm on board for Addison with brodin
Who better to cover any shortcomings
Kosky is a very good defenseman when he plays once every 4 games
Faber 3rd line with Mermis would be my choice that's a very deep blue line.
Walstedt is ready when called upon
In fact Gus and walstedt will be the best goalie tandem in the entire NHL.
Ideally Rossi should center Kaprisov
And when Zuggs plays himself out the game I would like to see Beckman
Replace him.
So it all comes down to injury
Because in all his wisdom
Dean Evason will not change
Unless he has too
I feel like a broken record
I would assume Foligno, Zucc, Brodin, & Spurgeon will all be injured @ some point this season which opens the door for some Iowa prospects. One would hope Guerin calls up the prospects over the grizzled Iowa Vets. One would also assume those prospects will be back in Iowa shortly thereafter. Outside Faber, there's no prospect that has done enough for Guerin to say "he's not going back to Iowa". I dont think we'll see Wallstedt much. Maybe a couple games but no starts. We'll see.
