I’ll never forget when Hašek came to Ottawa for a year! He was my favourite Goalie in the league growing up! I was sad he didn’t stay but I will forever be happy he was a Sen at one point.
Do you guys have a favourite player that wasn’t a Sen long enough?
Me as well. I had tears of joy. We need someone like him for sure.

His injury is why I’m against Olympics participation. We were hot that season and his injury fucked us.

Oh in an alternate timeline what could have been. I love Emery but he looked lost in those playoffs compared to the Hasek that preyed on us in previous years.

I think Hasek could’ve stolen a game at the least against the Quack in the finals, enough to have our forwards learn to not be shut tf down by that Niedermayer Moen Pahlsson line

Rob Zamuner When he came to Ottawa, to me it felt like the Senators officially started playing with the big boys in the NHL.

It felt like the first time a true superstar chose us.

we should’ve brought hasek back for 06-07

Then he got injured during the first Czech game in the 2006 Olympics in Turin!

Pillzy is that you?!

My first ever NHL game was when the Sabres came to town and the Dominator was their goalie. I was so psyched when he came here. To this day my dad still gets mad that he went to the olympics where he got injured, and honestly it feeds my apprehension about NHLers going to the olympics.

That lockout season woulda been our best shot. A year b4 the olympics that ended Hasek’s time with the Sens. Woulda had him in 04-05 instead of 05-06. Such a shame.

I wish I had bought a jersey at the time.

He’s the sole reason I became a Sens fan

He cost us a cup. He was cleared to play in the playoffs and refused. I’m sorry we wasted our time with him
KolhiiHead69
Never understood why the Sens logo on his mask had a red face
DropCautious
Hasek offered to come back in 2006-07 for league minimum but Muckler decided Gerber would be a better signing. Ottawa probably has a Cup win otherwise.

I saw him a bunch around kanata that year. His kid went to my school. It was pretty cool

The first jersey I had when I was 8 years old was a Hasek Sabres jersey. I was SO excited he was coming to Ottawa. That was so short lived and I didn’t even get a chance to see him play.

I remember during the lockout he did a tour around the Valley doing goalie clinics, came to Pembroke on my birthday, the PMC was packed.

We all remember crotch watch from the 2006 Olympics, he was a great goalie for the Sens but that injury skewered the team
