  1. Don't tease Oilnation like this! So we gonna win the cup with 3.8 Goals Against/game this year? lol.

  2. Aren't you a Calgary fan? That would explain why you would like to see Edmonton sign Patrick Kane. He would add nothing and prevent them from focusing on their problem area – defense.

  3. Easy Oilers trade Foegele and have Duncs give his ole buddy a call to come on over easy singing for the oil

  4. Please correct me if I am wrong, but I thought that if a player didn't have a contract before Dec 1 he would not be eligible to play until the following season.

  5. As an Oilers fan I would be all over it to bring Kane on but we only have around 3 million dollars for Evan Bouchard so if we sign Kane the contract with Bouchard that is already proably going to be short will be shorter and that’s a one way ticket to UFA. I love Kane but I rather Bouchard he’s show flashes of brilliance already in the regular season and Playoffs.

  6. I still find it funny how the famous Patrick Stefan missed open netter, resulting in Ales Hemsky scoring and sending that game to OT was a pretty big factor of the Blackhawks landing Kane. Both the Blackhawks and Oilers finished the 2006-2007 season with 71 points while the Oilers held the tiebreaker. The Oilers finished 6th last and the Blackhawks 5th last. With an 8.1% chance of winning the draft lottery, the Blackhawks got it and received the first overall pick in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, which turned out to be Kane. Had the Oilers not getting that extra point, then they would have finished 5th with 70 points and gotten Kane instead of Sam Gagner. And now we are in 2023 talking about the possibility of landing Kane, it is funny, but also awesome.

  7. All due respect to Patrick Kane but he is not a defensive minded player and would not really contribute much to the Oilers that they don’t already have. They don’t need another forward who barely plays defense

  8. Oilers games are some of the highest scoring games already. Oilers lose games when they score 4..5..6 goals.

They tried the playoffs by out scoring their opponents. It doesn’t work.

  9. Oilers are the most overrated team Two players don’t make a team no matter how good Remove mcdavid and draistl from the team and that team is a bottom feeder

  10. Bro, it’s not just a playmaker he could be a sniper when he wants this type of player can put Edmonton over the top

  11. The Oilers could definitely use him. He’s one of the most clutch playoff players ever.

  12. Been watching hockey long enough to know you can’t win with a team of puck handlers. Edmonton doesn’t need Kane. They need a tenacious bottom six and a deeper blue line.

  13. Can you imagine if the Pens go all 01-02 Red Wings and add Kane? I'm a Wings fan, and it makes me nauseous, but can you picture Guentzel – Crosby – Kane?!?

  14. The oil still won't be able to keep the puck out of their own net. Patty Kane won't do that for them, they need guys who actually play all 200 feet, not more of the same.

  15. As you say, he'll wait until he's ready to come back healthy and strong then sign with whichever team he thinks gives him the best shot at another cup win.

The problem for Edmonton is that Kane will be making that choice right around the same time that the Oilers take their annual 6 week holiday from showing up for games and instead just skate around aimlessly wondering what's going on.

Round about February or so, they light it up again but Kane's decision will probably already have been made by then.

  16. Maybe kind of a scenario similar to when Bryan Trottier went to Pittsburgh. Obviously Trottier knew he wasn't going to be the top guy any more, but he chipped in whatever was needed to win–and he won two more Stanley Cups. Having Kane can't hurt and could help. If they can make the money work, why not?

  17. Imagine if the Jackets go on an absolute tear this season and Kane joins them. Imagine a Gaudreau-Fantilli-Kane line

  18. Kane would be fantastic on the Oilers but him, Makar & Mackinnon on the Avs? Colorado would be LETHAL. People seem to forget Kane was top-20 in the entire league in 2021-2022 with OVER a PPG & despite having absolute TRASH around him this year (+ a hip injury) still scored at .83 PPG. Dude hasn't lost a step, he's just been surrounded by garbage + hurt. Put him on Colorado and Kane is easily over 1.25 PPG this year.
