I have no complaints about Weegar. Outside of his contract (probably) being two years too long, he is a good defense man earning a fair amount and his contract will likely age pretty well.

I think Weegar’s confidence is still growing and this year I hope he is utilized on the power play where I think he will blossom offensively. I fully agree with the author in that Weegar is one of the most underrated defenseman in the league and much like Giordano will overcome his lack of draft pedigree to be recognized as elite in time.

Weegs started popping off in the final 20 games. Definitely looking forward to seeing him next year now that he’s familiar with the team
