If Ottawa doesn’t give up their pick this year, Joe Sakic should give some thought into giving an offer sheet to Mark Stone, if it works out for the Avs, they get a great player in Stone, and they also leave the Senators in even worse shape than they are now. It would be a huge FU to Duchene leaving him on another rebuilding team. The Avs have 2 1st rounders next year, 1 2nd, and 2 3rds, so it wouldn’t be the end of the world if the Avs give Stone an $8 million per year, also Stone gets the benefit of not playing for a dumpster fire.

Sens will get pennies on the dollar for Karlsson if they trade him. Why would a team give up big assets when they can just sign him next offseason? Not to mention they'll have to shell out the money too in order to sign him longterm.
I'd like to see the Devils make a move for him if possible, but I wouldn't give up anything more than maybe a 2019 2nd plus a prospect with question marks like Quenveille or Bastian.
