Novo interviewed Elias and Sykora. I’m getting the run through brick wall vibes already October needs to get here ASAP

I completely agree. I want to temper my expectations, it might take all 5 years to get there it’s not easy to do. But those are the expectations ultimately, and I think this team can live up to it.
Hell yeah!
The dream is 3-4 in the next 10
This is all very exciting, but the hype is intimidating. All eyes are on the Devils. So many picking them as cup favorites. Almost anything short of a cup victory will be considered a failure.
I JUST HOPE THE TEAM HAS FUN
I approve of this take.
I’ll take 4 out of the next 5 best and final
Petr Sykora at the roulette table: BET IT ALL ON BLACK BABY
The wheel operator: You want all $5 on black?
Petr Sykora: IS IT NOT MY BIRTHDAY
On one hand I think we should consider there could be more growing pains but on the other hand I can totally see the Devils in the finals to the point where the NHL will have to make up new rules. They’ll call it the Hughesazoid, a series of trapezoidal zones where the Hughes boys are not allowed to touch the puck.
Anyone else amazed that this guy could live anywhere in the world and he’s still here in New Jersey?
Met Sykora at a game a couple seasons ago. He took a few minutes to talk to my little cousin about his playing days in minor hockey and the NHL (kid used to be obsessed with becoming a professional hockey player). He’s a really friendly guy.
Def agree with the take. I can see a ECF this year (overly optimistic) or next year and then playing for the cup again in 4 years. Winning a cup in the next 5 would be awesome as well
I sure hope so, there isn’t too much time left on the Hischier, Hughes, Hamilton contracts if you think too hard about it. Hischier is a UFA in 2028
Expectation wise I’m hoping that instead of a close first round – we dominate.
We’re still young I think a dominating first round would be a big step forward. Head into the second round with that
As a lifelong Mets fan, I don’t care how good they look in the off-season. It can go south real fast.
I want Brylin on board with this sentiment
