  1. What do you think about Troy strecher do you think he would be a good leaf pickup

  2. Dubas also notes Dermott will be on his off side next season and that they would still like to add a Dman with some physicality as well. So right now their D-core is looking like

    Rielly Brodie
    Muzzin Holl
    Lehtonen Dermott
    Sandin Liljegren

looking like Holl might get dealt if they wanna add another physical Dman

  3. I seen rumor of hall taking pay cut to play with Tavares and move nylander chances of this?

  4. life would be so much easier if Liljegren didn't need so much development time. 4 years and he's still AHL caliber.

  5. Johnsson is not going nowhere idk why all ur season projections has him out for sum reason

  6. D is still not good enough for NHL parity. Shanaplan and Dumbass it’s not enough to save your jobs. Godwilling things will get better GLG

  7. I love this move. Way more reasonable then a lot of other deals. Good defensive player as well.

  8. They’re on the right track, I’m soooo glad they got out on Petrangelo even though he would have been nice to play with Reilly , you can’t pay him 8.5M + and expect to fill out the rest of your roster without moving both Johnsson , Kerfoot and probably Holl and fill out those spots with league min guys. You can’t just go all NHL 2020 mode and stack your team with superstars with a cap situation. If the leafs had some amazing players 2 of defence and 3 or 4 forwards still on ELC then perhaps you could but not when you’re paying Simmonds 1.5 Mikeyhev 1.5 Engvall 1.25 or whatever he’s making
This was a good call, I would love to see Toronto sign Chara if they could get him anywhere around 2-2.25.

  9. Why are more people and insiders not talking about Columbus? I honestly believe they’re up to something BIG, potentially Hall AND Petrangelo. I know they still have Dubois to sign so Possibly not both but they’re probably not done dumping salary Intruely think they’re in on both Pietrangelo and Hall

I believe they’re in on Hall for sure trying to replace Panarin, I don’t think that system would fit Halls style play so I don’t think he will go there but I believe they’re trying . But if they could land peitrangelo that could make Savard Expendable , they could come close to having enough for Poetrangelo , Hall and Dubois

  10. I have watched almost every game that TJ Brodie has played in Calgary throughout his career. He had a couple of impressive seasons but has been incredibly frustrating to watch at times. Flames fans won't miss watching him fish for pucks and lose puck battle after puck battle. They will miss a genuinely good human being that helps out the community and good causes throughout the city though. He will be a Jake Muzzin 2.0 for the leafs if he can handle the media in Toronto. Calgary has their own Steve Simmons and his name is Eric Francis. The sooner either one of our teams finds a way to cancel those hacks, the sooner the players will be able to do their jobs properly.

  11. So it seems they basically have no choice but to move out a 3+ million dollar contract now. Honestly, I've expected Johnsson to be moved by now. What's the issue there, I wonder? I refuse to believe that he has negative value, like some people are saying.

  12. clearly your bias as a leafs fan is clouding your judgement here. This signing is yet another mistake by kyle dubas. Not only is the contract an overpay relative to what other comparable dman were getting on day 1 on ufa, but i dont see a fit here. Tj brodie is not a top pair dman and he never will be. He benefitted from playing with top pair guys but he is more like a 2nd pair dman at best. I dont think his hockey iq is good enough for top pair. So the leafs addressed their need for a top pair dman by signing a 2nd pair guy and not only that but they are overpaying. Oh and hes not a right shot, when the only nhl dman u have with a right shot is justin holl thats an issue. Dubas shouldve been in on shattenkirk, hes better than bodie i think, hes a rhd and the cap hit he got is over 1 million less than tj brodies plus he got less term. Dubas has proven he is absolute dogshit at negoiating contracts with free agents and thats why this team will never win with him as the gm!

  13. I tried to watch a live jokerit game to see lethonen but the game couldn't go 5 seconds w/o lagging smh

  14. We know nothing about Mikko Lehtonen, we have no evidence that he will even make the NHL. He won't replace Reilly on the PP, he doesnt provide size or grit, and won't kill penalties. Why pencil him in? He doesn't bump Sandin or Dermott out of the lineup. Team doesn't need a 3rd pairing purely offensive defender.

  15. Here’s the dream:
    Johnsson and Dermott to Florida
    For
    Weegar and a 2nd

Sign Corey Perry for same deal as Simmonds and

    Hyman – Matthews – Marner
    Mikheyev – Tavares – Nylander
    Robertson – Kerfoot – Simmonds
    Engvall – Spezza – Perry
    Barabanov

    Rielly – Brodie
    Muzzin – Weegar
    Lehtonen – Holl
    Sandin – Liljegren

    Andersen
    Campbell

Boom – let’s go with this roster! Cap should work too albeit tight (depends on Weegar$)

  16. They paid a fair market value for someone who fills a need. Can't be mad at the move that's for sure.

  17. they will still be the "out in the first round" or "just out" period with these signings. They have "failed" to add a true #1 defenseman. Yes morgan Reilly is good as is Jake Muzzin, but still not elite like a Hedman, or a Pietrangelo or even a Duncan Keith in his prime. If they could make a trade with Florida for an Ekblad maybe then we could see some contention. But to get better they have to give up something good

  18. who cares your still not going to win with those three big contract Matthews Marner Tavares, keep on wishing
